Creative Team Lead
The Creative Team Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success and efficiency of the creative team while actively supporting and collaborating with the Head of Creative at Klingit.

The Creative Team Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success and efficiency of the creative team while actively supporting and collaborating with the Head of Creative at Klingit. This role bridges day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives, providing structured support to ensure alignment with the business’s creative needs and goals.
As a middle manager overseeing a large delivery area, the Creative Team Lead will be responsible for setting ways of working, managing daily operations, and overseeing creative delivery areas for quality assurance. This role will also collaborate with other business areas relating to innovation initiatives to enhance workflows and team performance, particularly in efficiency, design tools, workflow processes and AI integration.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Provide mentorship, feedback and guidance to the creative delivery team across disciplines.
- Act as the first point of contact for the creative delivery team to address questions, challenges, and escalations.
- Manage team workloads with support and collaboration ensuring efficient assignment and balanced allocation of tasks.
- Monitor performance and maintain high delivery standards while identifying areas for growth and optimisation to be fairly allocated as upward feedback within squads or individuals.
- Handle the creative team's time-off requests and ensure responsibility for required communication to avoid project or delivery disruptions to clients.
- Encourage a culture of collaboration, trust, and openness within the team, while maintaining a strategic and senior approach to communication and decision-making.
Operational & Strategic Collaboration with the Head of Creative
- Work closely with the Head of Creative to align day-to-day operations with the business's strategic goals.
- Provide regular updates, insights, and feedback to ensure that the creative team is meeting business requirements, identify areas where improvements are needed and propose solutions or actions to facilitate.
- Collaborate in a structured and strategic manner to support long-term planning and team goals.
- Serve as the operational middle layer, connecting daily team activities with broader company objectives.
Design/Creative Operations Support
- Collaborate with the Head of Creative and the Strategic Operations Lead to develop and maintain a structured booking system. This system should include clear guidelines and equitable rules to ensure accuracy and efficiency in delivery workflows, resource allocation, and management across varied delivery teams and cross-functional processes.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, this may vary but will include common challenges like workload imbalances or project misalignments based on data insights within squads and delivery areas.
- Continuously refine or improve processes to support and contribute to team efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to internal standards, including time tracking, quality assurance, and documentation. (Klingit Platform and other Tools - Figma, Notion etc)
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Oversee the onboarding process for new creative team members, ensuring they are provided with the necessary tools, a clear understanding of workflows, and well-defined expectations aligned with our ways of working.
- Participate in recruitment activities: Screening candidates, conducting portfolio reviews, and participating in interviews. This process is typically proactive and involves collaboration agreements with external recruitment partners to ensure a steady pipeline of qualified talent and recruiter
- Evaluate new creative's performance, provide guidance and implement improvement roadmaps using HRS tools like Deel Engage.
Designer Growth and Development
- Collaborate with the Head of Creative to identify skill gaps within the team and implement proactive initiatives like training programs, workshops, and mentorship strategies as identified.
- Collaborate with the Head of Creative to develop individual growth plans that align team members' career progression with company objectives and requirements.
- Conduct regular feedback sessions and set clear performance expectations within Creative Squads.
- Advocate for creative team members’ growth and success within the organization, as the organisation and individual skillset allow.
Design Strategy and Execution
- Partner with the Head of Creative and the Strategic Operations Lead to define key data points within project scopes, delivery timelines, and related metrics. A solid understanding of scalable data is preferred to ensure effective collaboration and drive efficiency.
- Establish and encourage a solution-driven mindset within the team by supporting members in addressing creative and technical challenges when expert intervention is required. This support is intended for exceptional situations, not as a default resource. The primary focus is on empowering team members with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to independently solve problems, ensuring long-term self-sufficiency and growth in the team.

Requirements:
- 5–8 years of Multi-disciplinary design experience/understanding, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. (Preferred)*
- A high level of proficiency in design tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design software is beneficial.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle resources and timelines effectively.
- Proven experience in mentoring teams to achieve growth, foster collaboration, and cultivate an inclusive environment.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive and diplomatic approach.
- Familiarity with operational platforms for HRS and performance tracking (e.g., Deel, Team-tailor, Notion) *Preferred
- Availability within the CET time zone, with a strong and reliable internet connection for collaboration and communication in a remote work environment
Preferred:
- Experience in a fast-paced, agency or start-up environment.
- Flexible and adaptive to change.
- Knowledge of design systems, atomic design principles, and branding processes.
- A keen interest in understanding AI tools used in design and their values within applications or workflows.

This role is a full-time contract position available worldwide, operating remotely via Deel. While the position is open globally, it requires availability within the CET time zone to ensure seamless collaboration with the team and stakeholders.
